Mike Hinkle Dentistry specializes in the full array of cosmetic dentistry procedures including bonding, crowns, and fabulous Empress veneers. We are devoted to creating the dazzling results you want – and deserve – whether that requires delicate enhancement or more complex procedures. For more than 20 years, our claim to fame has been the thousands of mouths in Tulsa that we have “Hinkle-ized” – meaning all traces of mercury are removed and the teeth made ready for Hollywood! Here are some of the cosmetic dentistry procedures we offer that are designed to beautify your smile:
General & Reconstructive Dentistry
Before considering cosmetic work, you'll need a good foundation of strong teeth and bones and healthy gums. Unfortunatly, disease, accidents, genetic abnormalities, and everyday wear and tear can make keeping your mouth healthy a challenge. But that can be a lot easier when you partner with Dr. Hinkle and his team and receive regular preventative treatments and necessary restorative care. Dr. Hinkle has received additional training that often only dental specialists receive. This means you can get all your care in one office, which is more efficient and often cheaper than visiting separate specialists for your care. And you're working with a dentist who understands your personal needs and goals.
Veneers
Our practice is proud to offer state-of-the-art, all porcelain veneers and crowns made by Empress and featured on the hit television series “Extreme Makeover.” An excellent alternative to crowns, veneers can perfect your smile by masking stains, hiding chips, correcting misalignment, and creating uniformity. Veneers, which are made of thin, customized material designed to slide over the teeth, look incredibly natural, are long-lasting, and are relatively easy to apply. Please contact us today to find out more about our Empress veneers.

Crowns
Also called caps, our beautiful Empress crowns are natural-looking covers that fit snugly over your teeth to conceal cracked, badly discolored, injured, or chipped teeth. Crowns minimize physical discomfort and provide support to damaged teeth. Ultimately, crowns can improve the overall appearance of your smile while making your teeth more resistant to injury. Tooth-Colored Fillings
Gone are the days when tooth ailments and cavities could only be treated with unsightly metal fillings and mercury amalgams. Today, modern, tooth-colored fillings made of durable resin or porcelain can be bonded to your teeth for a stronger, more natural-looking effect. These revolutionary fillings are virtually undetectable and are easy to apply. To find out if tooth-colored fillings are a good option for you, please contact us today.

Bonding
A smile can be dulled by stained, chipped, cracked, or misaligned teeth, but bonding can quickly and painlessly restore your smile’s natural beauty. During the procedure, a thin coating of plastic or resin is painted over the damaged teeth, strengthening them and making them virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. To find out if bonding is the right option for you, please contact us today.

Teeth Whitening
Many of us feel that our smiles are most striking when our teeth look especially white, but unfortunately, soft drinks, coffee, tea, and tobacco can leave behind ugly stains. To help you restore your gleaming, white smile and to give you an added boost of confidence, we offer many options, such as in-office bleaching. Please contact us today to find out more about these options and which one is best for you.

Bridges
Sometimes a bit more work is needed to give you the smile you want. If you are missing teeth, having trouble speaking or chewing, or are noticing strain when biting, bridges may be the ideal procedure to help make your mouth healthy and beautiful again. Bridges, sometimes referred to as fixed partial dentures, literally bridge gaps between teeth by filling them with strong, natural-looking artificial teeth. Bridges are semi-permanent – they can only be removed by a dentist – and are comfortable and proven to strengthen teeth. To find out if bridges are the right option for you, please contact us today.

Whether it’s removable or partial dentures you need to fill gaps left by missing teeth or a complete set of dentures to replace your missing teeth, we can customize a comfortable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing denture solution to suit your needs. Orthodontics
Having straight teeth is important for both health and appearance. At Mike Hinkle Dentistry, we specialize in innovative orthodontic solutions that are both quick and aesthetically pleasing. One option is clear braces, which straighten teeth without calling attention to the fact that you are wearing braces. Another option is Invisalign, a unique new treatment option. Rather than using unattractive wires and brackets, Invisalign uses custom-made, removable aligner trays that move teeth into place discreetly and comfortably. This aesthetic aspect is important, because having a smile you love can affect your happiness and self-esteem, whether you are an adult, a teenager, or a child. To learn more about these orthodontic options for you or your child or teen, please contact our office today!

Invisalign
Invisalign is a revolutionary way to help you get even, straight teeth without noticeable, painful metal braces. Virtually undetectable, Invisalign aligner trays are made of strong, clear plastic that gradually guides your teeth into perfect alignment. Unlike metal braces, they have no wires or brackets on which your lips or gums can snag. During your first evaluation, Dr. Hinkle will help you determine if Invisalign is a good option for you. He'll then design a treatment plan and take tooth impressions, from which Invisalign will develop accurate, personalized tooth-straightening devices, called aligners. Aligners slide directly over your teeth and are replaced every two weeks as your teeth shift into place. To learn more about Invisalign, please contact our office today.

TMJ Reconstruction
A strong, healthy jaw is the basis for a beautiful smile. Thousands of Americans, however, suffer from myofacial pain (commonly known as TMJ). Excessive clenching, grinding, or poor bite alignment can strain your jaw joints or injure your teeth, causing discomfort and, often, severe pain. Dr. Hinkle takes a particular interest in TMJ reconstruction and offers a variety of nonsurgical treatment options. Therapy may involve use of a special splint, called a neuromuscular orthosis, which is used to recreate balance or, later on, a semi-permanent splint, as well as comprehensive orthodontics or tooth restoration. For more information on TMJ reconstruction, please contact us today.

Root Canals
Each of our teeth contains a long, thin strand of dental pulp—which provides the tooth with nutrients and nerves—that extends down to the tooth’s root. If the pulp becomes infected or injured, the tooth’s nerves die and, often, without endodontic treatment, the tooth dies as well. Root canals are designed to save such damaged teeth. During the procedure (performed under anesthesia), a gap is drilled into the tooth’s crown and pulp chamber, diseased pulp is removed, and the tooth is permanently sealed with a gold, porcelain, or tooth-colored crown. Dr. Hinkle has extensive endodontic experience and does exceptional root canals in office, without referrals. To learn more about root canals, please contact us today.

Periodontics – Gum Therapy
Unfortunately, periodontal (gum) disease can lead to more than just an unsightly smile—it can cause loss of teeth and, eventually, if left untreated, serious health problems. Called gingivitis in its early stages, periodontal disease is caused by excessive toxic bacteria (found in plaque) that attack your mouth’s soft tissues. Early warning signs of the disease include red, swollen, bleeding gums. Using a variety of nonsurgical and surgical techniques, we can help you reverse the damage caused by periodontal disease and restore your mouth to a healthy, beautiful state. For more information, please contact our office today.

Having a dazzling, healthy smile can make a positive difference in anyone’s life – it can restore not only a strong bite and more youthful appearance, but also the confidence and self-assuredness that come with them. Using a full range of restorative dentistry procedures – from tooth replacement to endodontics – we can custom design a smile to complement your facial features and restore your gums, teeth, and jaw to a strong, healthy state. No matter what your dental needs, we have a restorative solution that will work for you. Please contact our office today to schedule a consultation.

Implant Reconstruction
Our doctor performs dental implant reconstruction by attaching artificial teeth to implants anchored in the bone below the gum line. After the anchor has been surgically placed in the jawbone, excess bone and gum grow around the implant, holding it firmly in place. An artificial tooth can then be attached to the implant. The end result is a strong, secure tooth that is virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. To find out if dental implant restoration is right for you, please contact us today.

Extractions
In only the most extreme and necessary cases—such as when its roots are severely damaged beyond repair—we may extract a tooth in preparation for a restorative dentistry procedure, such as dentures. For your teenagers, we offer the extraction of full-bony impacted wisdom teeth. If you have any questions about tooth extraction, please contact us today.

Our preventative care includes fluoride, professional breath control, and periodontal (gum disease) treatments designed to help you maintain your smile’s health and beauty.
